ABOUT
Ahmed Aljunaid is a multidisciplinary architect and designer operating between Florence and Saudi Arabia. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Architectural Engineering from the University of Florence, Italy, where he graduated with distinction. He currently leads and develops high-profile projects across multiple domains—ranging from entertainment and hospitality to healthcare and urban development. As a Lead Architect for PIF-backed projects and Deputy Head of Special Projects at UDH, he is shaping future-forward architecture rooted in human value and investment potential. He is also the founder of UDZ Italian Studio, a design atelier merging Italian depth with Gulf ambition.
Throughout his academic years, Ahmed demonstrated a unique ability to combine creative design thinking with practical application. His innovative proposal to redevelop public healthcare spaces in Saudi Arabia earned him the “Best Architectural and Research Design” award in Italy in 2022. The work was published in both academic journals and major newspapers in Italian and English. Additionally, his museum design for Berlin was ranked among the top five entries in a prestigious international competition.
Professionally, Ahmed began his journey alongside world-renowned architects. In Malaysia, he collaborated with timber-architecture expert Azman Zainal on commercial projects emphasizing material expressiveness. He then joined Spanish architect Daniel Castro at HL Design Group, where he contributed to large-scale developments such as Penang International Airport and the Swiss Garden Hotel.
In Italy, he was deeply influenced by the fusion of artistic expression and engineering clarity. Under the mentorship of architect Riccardo Renzi in Florence, he refined his understanding of museum and public space design—blending classical harmony with modern technique. His collaborations in Spain with architect Luca Marzi and the firm Dezore further shaped his approach to clarity, function, and innovation.
Upon returning to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed served as Lead Designer and Deputy Project Manager at Al Amoudi Holding Group, where he led the design of private hospitals, hotels, and commercial hubs. More recently, he has expanded into the entertainment and tourism sectors, designing immersive leisure destinations, family entertainment centers, and waterfront experiences that merge aesthetics with technology and commercial strategy.
Ahmed’s design identity is rooted in precision, narrative, and timeless elegance—bridging cultures, disciplines, and experiences into spaces that elevate both people and place.
